Ultraviolet’s High School Tour is a new initiative designed to provide performance opportunities for student bands and create exciting, memorable lunchtimes for student audiences. The concept is simple: three student bands from three different schools will tour together, performing a series of lunchtime concerts at each other’s schools.
The goal is to offer meaningful live music experiences, strengthen school communities, and expose more students to the performing arts. All with minimal disruption to teaching schedules.
Ultraviolet is committed to making participation easy. Through funding and brand partnerships, we look to cover all expenses, including production, marketing, and logistics.
However, if your school is in a position to help, any support is warmly welcomed, whether it’s providing equipment, offering a transport vehicle, or contributing financially to create the best possible experience for student musicians and audiences.
Lunchtime concerts bring energy to the school day, fostering community and engagement with the arts. They offer students a chance to experience live music in a fun and inclusive environment – sometimes for the very first time.
We take care of everything, from planning and setup to running the event. Our experienced team ensures a smooth, professional experience with minimal disruption, so staff and students can simply enjoy the music.
Schools can nominate a student band or solo artist to join the tour, giving them a platform to perform alongside other emerging musicians. It’s a valuable opportunity to gain real-world performance experience and build confidence on stage.
Concerts are designed to fit within lunchtime, requiring no schedule adjustments. Students will be picked up and dropped back at their schools by our team to ensure minimal class is missed. Sound checks will happen by our team during the interval to ensure there is no class disruption.
We’ll need a space where the concert can take place—somewhere students can easily gather, with access to power. An outdoor area is ideal, as it creates a vibrant atmosphere, allows better crowd flow, and makes the event more visible. However, we will also need an indoor backup in case of bad weather.
Each participating school will have the opportunity to nominate a student band or solo artist to represent their school on the tour. This offers students a meaningful chance to perform for new audiences and gain real-world live music experience.
Ideally, this will be your school’s Music HOD or Arts Coordinator. They’ll act as our main point of contact in the lead-up to the concert and on the day itself. We’ll work closely with them to coordinate logistics, support student performers, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
At Ultraviolet, safety is our highest priority. Our team will be made up of trained professionals with experience in both event production and working with youth. Every team member will be police vetted, and at least one staff member on site will be certified in first aid.
However, beyond a team of experts, we believe safety starts well before show day. In the lead-up to each event, we’ll prepare all relevant documentation, including comprehensive risk assessments and health and safety plans, tailored to each event and school. We will also work closely with you to meet any school-specific policies, EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) requirements, or other health and safety protocols necessary to ensure a smooth, low-risk experience for everyone involved.
We know hosting an event at your school involves important considerations. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about the Ultraviolet High School Tour. If you have any other questions or feedback, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re currently developing this programme and welcome your ideas to help make it better for everyone involved. Our crew arrives on-site at 9 am to begin setup. A brief soundcheck takes place during interval to minimise disruption to classes. The concert runs for around 40 minutes during lunchtime, with pack-down completed by 3 pm.
To minimise class time missed, we will arrange transport between schools. Students will be picked up approximately one hour before lunch and return about 30 minutes after lunch, depending on the travel distance.
We don’t want resources to be a barrier for schools to participate. Depending on funding, our goal is to provide all necessary equipment, including sound systems, microphones, amps, and instrument backline.
However, if funding is limited, we will be seeking the support of host schools to provide essential equipment, such as sound systems, amps, or backline gear, to help make the event a success.
No — Through funding and brand partnerships, Ultraviolet will cover all costs for participating schools.
However, if your school is able and willing to contribute, we warmly welcome any form of support. This might include providing equipment such as sound systems, amplifiers, or backline instruments, offering a vehicle for transport, or making a financial contribution that directly helps create the best possible experience for student musicians and audiences.
An Ultraviolet team member will be dedicated to supporting student performers throughout the day—from pick-up to drop-off. All staff are police-vetted, and at least one team member will be certified in first aid.
While it’s not required, schools are welcome to send a staff member to accompany their students.
If you have safety concerns, please see our Safety section or get in touch. Student wellbeing is our top priority, and we’re happy to discuss any questions
Yes! It doesn’t have to be a full band — solo performers and duos are welcome too.
Yes! If your students are interested in sound, lighting, or event production, they’re welcome to assist with setup, pack-down, and running the concert at their school. It’s a great chance to work alongside professionals and gain real-world experience in a supportive environment.
If this is something your students would enjoy, please contact us ahead of the event so we can plan together.
